It is believed that the it is a small creature almost of human decent that is sent to bring about bad luck and to terrorize the person. It is believed that using Tokoloshe salts make it visible and gives the person the ability to banish it to the underworld.

They use it by sprinkling it around their house and under their bed and in their closet to ensure that it cant terrorize the person or family.
